About El Prat Passport Control

Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) is Spain's second-busiest airport and one of the most popular entry points for UK summer visitors to the Mediterranean. EES biometric checks apply to all non-EU, non-Schengen travellers entering through Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. El Prat is known for congestion at peak times; during peak summer, EES queues on morning inbound banks from the UK can be substantial. Allow 3โ€“4 hours before your outbound flight during July and August.

Busiest periods: July and August are extremely busy. Easter and long UK bank holiday weekends also see surges.
