About Adolfo Suárez Barajas Passport Control
Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport (MAD) is Spain's main international gateway. Terminal 1 processes most UK and European arrivals; Terminal 4 handles long-haul intercontinental routes. EES biometric registration applies to all non-EU, non-Schengen travellers at all terminals. Spain invested heavily in EES infrastructure ahead of launch, with additional kiosk lanes in both T1 and T4. During peak summer months, staffed assistance lanes operate alongside self-service kiosks.
Busiest periods: July–August and Easter are the busiest periods at Barajas.
